Funny Miscomunication / 日本語で言った方がわかるなんて---

This morning, one customer called us for a pick up of books.
The customer was a female English speaker and could apeak Japanese very well.

I'd like mail her the delivery slips COD printed with the Blue Parrot address,
but its not enough a time to mail
and then I was going to explain to her about that.

" Would you write your name and address on it?"
" I'm not sure, I don't know what is it"
" So it need to be placed on the boxes,
also it need to be written your & our name & address--"
" Sorry, I don't understand what you said"
" Oh--Its terrible--. it is called DEMPYO in japanese--"
" Oh !! I see !!---Yea, also CHAKUBARAI !! Great!!"
She said to me.

We both laughed out loud.

Such a miscominucation can be so funny @ times.



今朝、電話で本の買い取りの申し込みがありました。
お客さんはイングリッシュスピーカー、で日本語上手の女性。

私としては、Blue Parrot の住所が印刷された
”着払い伝票”をお送りしたいけど、引っ越しまでにまにあわない。
そこで、佐川急便のドライバーが Pick Up　の時に
"delivery slips COD " を持って行くことを説明する。

「--そこに、あなたの住所とBlue Parrot の住所を書いて下さいますか？」
「---よくわかりません。delivery slips COD　ってなんですか？？」
「---送る箱に張る紙です。名前とか住所を書きます」
「わたしは　delivery slips COD　って、何のことか、理解できませんが---」
「　そうですかァ？　こまったな--。日本語で、"伝票"っていうんですけど--」
「おお！！　伝票なら知っています。えっ！！　着払い？（She spoke in Japanese)　GREAT!!　」

---と言うので、ふたりで大笑いしました。

こんな行き違いは、ホントに愉快　：）
